About Me
​Hi, I’m Maria, the heart and hands behind Maria Canarias Label. My love for sewing started when I was still a kid—at the age of 13 years old I start learning alongside my grandmother, who taught me the fundamentals of sewing and the joy of creating something with my own hands. Those early lessons shaped my approach to fashion, leading me to work in the industry for over a decade as a seamstress and pattern cutter.

Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to refine my skills in both artistic and high-end fashion settings. I spent four years working in the costume department of a theater, where I learned to create intricate, durable, and highly detailed garments that needed to be both visually stunning and functional for performance.

Following that, I spent five years in the wedding dress industry, working with delicate fabrics, intricate embellishments, and precise tailoring to create gowns that fit flawlessly and felt like a dream to wear. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of garment construction, luxurious finishes, and the importance of a perfect fit.​​​​​​
